UKVI AND IELTS LIFE SKILLS

HOW THE IELTS LIFE SKILLS TEST WORKS

IELTS LIFE SKILLS LEVELS

Level A1

Required for UK Visas & Immigration for "family of a settled person." Test takers must listen, respond, communicate basic information, and engage in familiar topics. Tasks may include describing, giving opinions, stating preferences, commenting, asking information, agreeing/disagreeing, explaining, and deciding.

Level A2

Required for visa extension for family, spouse, or partner. Test takers must communicate information, feelings, and opinions on familiar topics and interact in familiar situations. Tasks may include comparing, prioritizing, planning, and persuading.

Level B1

Required for citizenship or indefinite leave to remain. Test takers must listen, respond, and communicate effectively using appropriate formality. Tasks include showing contrast, narrating, asking about past/future events, and expressing future certainty or possibility.
